I don't even know where to begin reviewing Prodigy. Lu is an excellent writer--her prose is well-measured and her plot well-constructed. Her characters are clearly deep on background, and she knows them intimately. I enjoyed this book, and flew through it, but it's so hard for me to say I loved it, because I'm so torn by what's happening with the plot. I suppose that's a sign of how well it's written? So many second books feel like nothing but plodding explication. Prodigy is the absolute opposite. 4.5 stars.
